Intel, IBM, AT&T ont annoncé la création de Cometa Networks – connu également sous le nom de Projet Rainbow – une nouvelle compagnie qui doit déployer des hotspots sur tous les Etats-Unis. 3 à 4 000 hotspots existeraient actuellement aux Etats-Unis, très indépendants les uns des autres.
